Why Every Business Owner Needs To Blog

August 7, 2017

Here's another blog post about why you need to blog. If you're not already on the ball, it's time to get rollin'.

1. Blogging makes you an expert.

Everyone knows something. And if you started a business, you should know your stuff. Show off to the internet world your smarts. Prove to them that they should trust you instead of Siri. This builds trust between your potential client and you. If they read your blog post and like your free advice, they may just dish out a few bucks for your service or product in the near future.

2. It starts the conversation.

Blogging makes you human. If you provide useful information and maybe even add a twist of humor, you open yourself up to some beautiful two-way conversations. People will want to engage with you - maybe they'll share on their Facebook timelines or even subscribe to your blog.

3. Blogs increase your SEO.

(What is SEO anyways?) SEO means search engine optimization. So, if you have a good SEO, then it will be easy to find you on Google and other searching sites. Which is a lot harder than you would think. Blogging consistently will get your name out there and increase the amount of impressions on your site. In fact, businesses that blog see a 55% increase in visitors to their website.

4. It will help build your brand.

Blogging isn't easy. And neither is building - let alone maintaining a brand. Find your niche. Figure out what you can offer and be consistent. A blog helps show that you are grinding away and contributing to the conversation in your industry.

5. You will learn. A lot.

When you first start your blog, you will definitely have to do some blog research. Naturally, by reading more blogs, you will gain nuggets of wisdom along the way. Putting pen to paper, or rather fingers to the keyboard, will help give a voice to your brand.
